We need to address the issue of people speeding through the neighborhood, especially with so many young kids around. :!: :!: :!:

Let's ask the question a little broader... How should the town support a residentially-zoned area? When an area is zoned "residential", what strategies should the town employ to ensure the residential investments are bettered? What protections can residential areas expect from the town so that business and/or industrial areas will not negatively impact the homes? Speed limits? Speed control devices? Type of police patrols? Fire protection? Traffic routing? Sidewalks? Noise ordinances? Etc. What should residential owners be entitled to when living in a residential area of Mt. Holly? Encroaching Heavy Industrial property into residential areas should or should not be allowed per strategy? (In the case of the almost-passed expansion of Heavy Industrial zones near Dutchman Ridge in May 2015.)

If council came up with a good strategy for having heavy industrial zones appropriately buffered/separated from residential zones, would Dutchman Ridge continue to oppose growth of the manufacturing facilities? How long will it be before another rezoning request is slipped in for consideration? Do you know who your councilpersons are?

Heads up:

On the 1/11/2016 City Council meeting: "Call for a public hearing for a Conditional District Rezoning of Phase 4 in Dutchman’s Ridge"

What's this about?
